Be Aware: October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, an annual campaign across the world to increase attention and spread awareness of the disease. Breast cancer is not only the most commonly occurring cancer in women, but it is also the second most cancer overall. Twelve-point four percent of women in the United States will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. These statistics inspired the American Cancer Society and the pharmaceutical division of imperial Chemical Industries to introduce Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 1985. They strive to educate women about breast cancer and early detection tests. During the month of October, breast cancer survivors and those with breast cancer are also celebrated and encouraged to share their stories. The month is also dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research and other related causes. The National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc, is one foundation, amongst many, who strive to provide help and inspire hope to those who have been affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services. Because of these efforts breast cancer death rates declined 40% from 1989 to 2016 among women. Derluxe introduces the BREANNA mask to help support breast cancer survivors and those who are currently battling breast cancer. Twenty percent of every single mask sold will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
